The United Counties of Prescott and Russell (the "UCPR") wish to advise residents that the Cobb’s Lake Bridge rehabilitation project will begin on March 25, 2024. The bridge will be closed to traffic for the duration of the work, which is expected to last until fall 2024.
The bridge is located along County Road 2 (Russell Road) east of Bourget, near the Prescott and Russell Recreational Trail. It is important to note that this is not the municipal bridges located on Lalonde Road and Du Lac Road in St-Pascal-Baylon.
The proposed detour for eastbound traffic will be on County Road 8, then County Road 19. The proposed detour for westbound traffic will be from County Road 19, then County Road 8. Detour details will be available from the start of construction at www.municipal511.ca.
“We must carry out major rehabilitation work on the structure of the Cobb’s Lake Bridge. This will require the complete closure of Russell Road in both directions,” explained Jérémie Bouchard, Director of Public Works for the UCPR.
“When we must proceed with projects of this magnitude, the safety of citizens and workers is always a priority. Unfortunately, there will be delays during the construction period due to traffic congestion. However, we will strive to minimize the impact on motorists, residents, and business owners,” said Pierre Leroux, Warden of the UCPR.
