On February 28, 2024, during the Regular Council Meeting of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (the “UCPR”), Ms. Mélissa Cadieux, Mr. Olivier Berthiaume, and Mr. Marc-André Drouin were officially appointed as Department Heads within the UCPR.
Mr. Drouin was hired in the UCPR’s Information Technology team in 2009. He was then promoted to IT Manager - Systems and Services in 2016. During and after the pandemic, his Department witnessed many technological transformations, including the addition of several local municipalities to the regional IT infrastructure. Mr. Drouin has now been appointed to the position of Director of Information Technology to support the Department's strategic direction.
Ms. Cadieux, a Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, was first hired as Clerk for the UCPR in 2018. Over the course of the last six years, she also became Supervisor of the Provincial Offences Office and Manager of Administrative Services. She has been appointed as Director of Administrative Services, while still retaining her duties as Clerk.
Mr. Berthiaume joined the Economic Development and Tourism team in 2015 as a Project Officer. In 2021, he joined the Administration as the Chief of Staff and Communications Coordinator. Responsible for the coordination of communications and corporate events, the support to the Chief Administrative Officer, and more recently, the coordination of regional community development, he retains the position of Chief of Staff and has been appointed as Director of Communications.
These three appointments are necessary to meet the growing operational needs of the UCPR, as well as the growth of the Clerk’s Office, the Administration, and the Information Technology Department.
