La FRIPERIE Donates $100,000 to the Foundation

The Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation (the “Foundation”) is pleased to announce that LA FRIPERIE de Hawkesbury has made a major donation of $100,000 to its Lift Me Up campaign, which aims to install a patient lift in every room of the new Prescott and Russell Residence.

This contribution attests to the Foundation's commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the community. Indeed, it plays a crucial role in providing quality care and services to the residents of Prescott and Russell.

Founded by Mrs. Murielle Ménard, LA FRIPERIE de Hawkesbury has been serving the community for 32 years. The Foundation is grateful for the support of LA FRIPERIE and its director, Mrs. Marcelle Ménard, who will be retiring after 19 years of service to the organization. Although LA FRIPERIE will close its doors on September 30, 2024, it will reopen under the management of another non-profit organization, with its current furniture and clothing inventory.

The funds accumulated over the years will be distributed to several non-profit organizations. The Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation is the recipient of a major donation of $100,000.

“I think it's high time we thought about our seniors with special needs, as well as the support staff who look after the residents' well-being. We are proud to be able to participate in this fundraising effort for a much-needed tool that will be in service for many years to come,” said Mrs. Marcelle Ménard, Director of LA FRIPERIE de Hawkesbury.

Mrs. Ménard added that many other non-profit organizations will receive a donation:

  • $25,000 - Interlude House;
  • $8,000 - Hawkesbury Food Bank;
  • $4,000 - Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation;
  • $4,000 - Canadian Cancer Society;
  • $4,000 - Prescott and Russell Valoris Foundation;
  • $4,000 - Community Services Prescott and Russell Foundation; and
  • $4,000 - Groupe Action/Hawkesbury Family Centre.
