The United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) is announcing the opening of two child care centres in the region to support health-care staff and other front-line workers during the COVID-19 period.

The opening of these child care centres follows the Province of Ontario's recent announcement to exempt certain licensed daycares for specific eligible workers.

Both centres will be offered by the Centres éducatifs Les Petits Trésors, and will be located as follows:

  • Pleasant Corners Public School, 4099 Highway 34 in Vankleek Hill (for the east sector); and
  • 525-A Limoges Road in Limoges (for the west sector).

Please note that these child care services will only be available to health-care staff and other front-line workers. Consult the list of eligible workers.

Parents interested in registering are asked to call 613-807-1566 or send an e-mail. Please note that only parents with no other options will be eligible.

The child care centres are also looking for early childhood educators who would be interested in working in these centres. They are asked to contact the Centres éducatifs Les Petits Trésors at 613-807-1566 or send an e-mail.

The UCPR would like to recall that in accordance with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit's directive dated March 22, 2020, all daycares and child care services (licensed or private) must remain closed for health and safety reasons, until further notice.
