Accessibility

The Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) is committed to providing equal treatment for people with disabilities, in a manner respectful of their dignity and fair to the rest of the population. We are committed to offering accessible customer services, programs, goods, facilities and information to our residents.

Accessibility policies and procedure

Policies that comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) are available to all UCPR staff to determine how best to respond to community requests for information and communication.

Communications Request

For information on how and where to request documents in accessible formats or communication assistance, visit our Information Request page.

Third-Party external sites and tools

Accessibility checks and regulations have been incorporated into our publishing and procurement workflow to comply with the WCAG 2.0 standard level AA.

Please note, that some third-party procurement agreements have been entered into prior to this site launch. That said, certain pages may contain links to third-party sites that we do not control; these sites may not comply with WCAG Level AA standards. You will receive a notification on our website when you are being redirected to a third-party site.

Accessibility Plan

The United Counties of Prescott and Russell’s (UCPR) Accessibility Plan is a roadmap outlining how we will continue to identify, remove, and prevent accessibility barriers.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The mandate of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to provide expertise on services, facilities and communications. The Committee identifies ways to improve accessibility by phasing out existing barriers and preventing the creation of new ones. The Committee is comprised of community volunteers as well as representation from the Council and staff of the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
